HOLTERGEIST — Sample Pack DEMOS
I utilized no synths for the creation of these sounds.
I utilized no drum machines for the creation of these sounds.
Most filenames are not literal. “Bass” is not a bass, “Kick” is not originally a bass drum, “Snares” were never snare samples, etc. Everything either started on tape, went through my cassette machines, or is the result of letting tape eat itself or having the machines malfunction, electronically or physically… so some of these samples are noisy. Actually, a lot of them are.
There are sounds in this pack that are not all perfectly tuned. Such is the nature of mechanical devices and tape. The tools available in DAWs and samplers these days allow for users to decide how perfect they might want to make the sounds they’re utilizing… so, feel free to tune these sustains up if it’s needed for your musical ideas. In most cases, given the nature of this pack, I found the extra layers of “wrong” to be very right. Your mileage may vary. Enjoy!

All files are 24bit 48k stereo WAV for use in Live, Logic, ProTools, or other DAW/sampler of your choosing. If you’re using Elektron’s Digitakt or similar, you can download a full set of 16bit 44.1k mono WAVs (everything but the “NOISE” folder) by clicking the link for the “Overload Items” folder (due to the 300MB file size limit at Squarespace) above. See note about this additional download link below.
Almost everything is in the .zip file that you will have downloaded directly with your purchase from Squarespace.
The longform “NOISE” folder is over 1.3 GB just by itself, so to save space I zipped up all of those samples, save for one example file, and they can be downloaded using a private link for the “Overload Items” directory that can be found inside the READ ME .pdf after unzipping the purchased .zip file.

There are two folders included in this download that are previews of some sample packs I’m currently working on at the time of this Residual Noises release. UnSynths and Warble Loops are meant to give you a small taste of these forthcoming projects.
